Wilderness First Responder certification training

The City of Bainbridge Island is offering a highly subsidized Wilderness First Responder certification training to build a foundation of citizens with medical skills. This will help the community in the event of a disaster when traditional medical resources may be significantly delayed or unavailable. The training is open to residents of Bainbridge Island, ages 18+, who are willing to volunteer to work at the hubs in the event of a disaster. The Hybrid Wilderness First Responder (H-WFR) course combines 20-30 hours of online coursework with five days of onsite training to provide intermediate medical skills to individuals working or playing in a remote or wilderness setting. Through a hands-on and scenario-based approach, this course offers the skills and confidence needed to provide medical care when evacuation is hours or days away. For more information and to sign up go to https://goo.gl/sD4ieSContact Clint Pells at clintpells.bi@outlook.com for further information.
