Look at what we’ve accomplished together so far!

Since our grassroots founding in 2011, we have accomplished so much together, all of it made possible with our dedicated network of more than a thousand generous donors, committed volunteers, and community supporters.

As Washington's most prepared community, we continue to grow locally, as well as share our significant knowledge and experience with other cities and counties in the Pacific Northwest.

In 2021, we received the Humanitarian Award from Bainbridge Community Foundation. In 2022, we were voted the Volunteer Organization of the Year by the International Association of Emergency Managers. And in 2023, we received special recognition from Washington State Governor Jay Inslee for our accomplishments.

Accolades

Together we have:

Established 180+ Map Your Neighborhood groups that have connected neighbors, mapped supplies, and identified vital skill sets in nearly every island neighborhood, creating a volunteer preparedness network that spans the entire island.

Organized 21 Volunteer Preparedness Teams with 725+ volunteers addressing numerous aspects of emergency preparedness ranging from food resilience and psychological first aid to child reunification and domestic animal care.

Created a Volunteer Flotilla of 80+ vessels that will be able to provide on-water support in both natural and human-caused disasters.

Built a Disaster Hubs network to provide limited, gap-filling emergency services following a disaster. The Hubs are spread strategically across Bainbridge Island to be walking distance from our neighborhoods.

Run more than 100 Vaccine Clinics that administered more than 40,000 Covid-19 and influenza vaccine doses during the pandemic, saving lives and keeping our community safer and healthier.

Increased blood donations, encouraged more neighbors to garden, increased the number of people trained in CPR, provided support to numerous community events, and helped to distribute thousands of emergency supplies (like Stop the Bleed Kits and AEDs) across Bainbridge.

Strengthened our ability to coordinate with first responders through leading large group trainings like Cascadia Rising and our annual Day of Preparedness.

And that’s just the start! Click here to support our continuing community work.
