Learn amateur radio and get licensed with help from the BARC!

Amateur radio operators play a critical role in emergencies when other communication systems go down or are overwhelmed. With the help of our very active Bainbridge Amateur Radio Club, you can earn your FCC Technician Amateur Radio license and get on the air by attending their licensing classes, beginning in March 2018.

The class will be taught in three separate sessions over the first three Saturdays in March. Each class session will last for about 4 hours. The class will cover all the material in the FCC exam. The class outline will follow the format presented in The No-Nonsense, Technician Class License Study guide by Dan Romanchik, which can be found on line at https://www.kb6nu.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/2014-no-nonsense-tech-study-guide-v20.pdf.
In addition, at the end of each class session there will be “hands on” practice which will include radio operation, radio programming, types of radios, and other activities associated with Technician level license use.
Fee for the Technician License class will be $10.00.
Those interested in the class should visit the class site for details on class start timing and class location. There are no prerequisites.
