Stash Under-the-Bed Supplies
You can prepare your household for emergencies in one year by taking a few small steps each month.
Join the Prepare in a Year 24 movement to get ready AND enter monthly drawings to win prizes.
Under-the-bed supplies are those items you can reach for when you’ve been awakened by a crisis, such as an earthquake. You keep these items under the bed so that you don’t have to get out of bed in order to retrieve them because, without them, just getting out of bed could expose you to injury.
To prepare, do the following:
Create an under-the-bed kit for every member of the household who can get out of bed on their own. Read more here. The kit should include
hard hat (or bicycle helmet)
gloves
safety goggles
flashlight
sturdy shoes
One person in the household should also have the Map Your Neighborhood Help/OK sign in their kit.
That’s it! When you’re done, complete the submission form.
Your submission will be entered in a drawing to win the September prize: A pair of rechargeable headlamps.
