See Films on Food with Friends of the Farms

As part of the Wild & Scenic Film Festival, Friends of the Farms is showing seven short films focused on Farming, Food, and Community, highlighting the deep connections between agriculture, sustainability, and local well-being.

A moderated panel discussion will follow. The goal of the discussion—like the event itself—is to inspire meaningful conversations about how farms and food shape the health and resilience of our land, water, and communities for future generations. The panel will be moderated by Cestjon McFarland. The panelists are

Erica Curry—principal at Row by Row and consultant to the Bainbridge Island School District for locally sourced produce and 90 percent scratch kitchen

Kerri Cacciata—Director of People and Culture at Tilth Alliance and former head of their Food Access Program

Deb Rudnick—Lead of Watershed Council of Sustainable Bainbridge and consultant to City of Bainbridge Island Climate Change Committee

Karissa Holcombe—farmer at Pleasant Field Farm and Board Member of Kitsap County Agricultural Alliance

Dax Hansen—owner of Humblebee Farm on Bainbridge and Oatman Farms, a regenerative organic farm in Arizona

The event happens April 19 from 7–10 PM at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art.
