One reason people fail to prepare their households and businesses for emergencies is that the task seems overwhelming. They wonder, "How am I doing to be able to figure this all out?" "How can I gather all the supplies I need?"But the task doesn't have to be daunting. The Washington State Military Department has created a simple one-year guide—Prepare in a Year—to help people tackle one task per month.
