Who the Heck Are These People?

As a nonprofit organization, Bainbridge Prepares enjoys the oversight of a Board of Directors. These fine people donate their time to help BP be the best it can be. Today we’re taking a closer look at who they are.

Scott James, Chair

Scott also happens to be the founder of Bainbridge Prepares and the author of the excellent book Prepared Neighborhoods: Building Resilience One Street at a Time.

Susan James, Vice Chair

This other James, who is indeed related to Scott, is a clinical social worker and wellness coach. She also happens to serve as Lead for our Wellness Team.

Roger Coulter, Treasurer

As a chief financial officer in the sustainability industry, Roger is perfectly suited to help BP keep its money ducks in a row. And speaking of that, did you know that BP relies on donations and grants for funding its operations? Want to donate? Click here.

Matt Kress, Secretary

In addition to serving on our board, Matt, who is a Marine Corps veteran and former firefighter/EMT, is Chief of Staff at The Headstrong Project, a non-profit mental health organization that provides PTSD treatment to veterans, service members, and family.

Devin James

This James, who is no relation to the other James, is a volunteer firefighter/EMT. Devin works as a chief technology officer in the tech industry and is Lead for the BP Training Team and a Lead for the BP Medical Reserve Corps.

Michael Kleeman

Michael is a Senior Fellow at the Institute of Global Conflict and Cooperation at the University of San Diego. He is an advisor to the UN Foundation, PBS, and BSR (Business for Social Responsibility).

Joanne Maher

Joanne, the Executive Director of Island Volunteer Caregivers, uses her marketing background as a Lead of our BP Development Committee. She is the former Director of Healthy Youth Alliance for Bainbridge Youth Services.

Laura Samant

Laura puts her engineering background to work as a natural disaster risk mitigation specialist.

Alex Stanyon

Alex co-leads our Development Committee with Joanne. She is also a CPA, tax and small business specialist, and financial consultant.
