Learn How to Protect Your Well for Post-Disaster Use

Waterlines and a water sign

Will your well work after a disaster? Find out at our upcoming presentation Residential Water Well System Survival and Preparation for Emergency Use.

Bainbridge Island is at risk for several types of disasters that can endanger your residential water well:

  • Wildfires can threaten a well's power sources, piping, and tanks.

  • Earthquakes can disrupt a well's casing, break piping and pumps, cause tanks to leak, and dislodge contaminants into the well water.

  • Tsunamis can inundate a well with contaminants.

The presentation happens March 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the BI Museum of Art. Our guest presenters from Robinson Noble are Michael F. Piechowski, LHG Principal Hydrogeologist, and Serena K. Silva, Groundwater Scientist.

Seating is limited. Pre-registration is required. Reserve your seats now.
