Join BP for a Fire Extinguisher (and Boater Safety) Event

You can enhance your home and boat safety with a fire extinguisher upgrade May 11 at the Winslow Wharf Marina. The fire extinguisher and boat safety event—co-sponsored by BP, Eagle Harbor Yacht Club, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, and Peninsula Fire—is intended to help people keep their homes and vessels fire safe and Coast Guard–regulation compliant.

Fire Extinguishers

  • Get your fire extinguisher inspected for free and/or serviced for $9.50 per device.

  • Buy new extinguishers or exchange your old extinguishers for new ones.

  • Dispose of unserviceable extinguishers and expired flares and fireworks at no charge.

Vessel Safety

  • Get a 10 percent discount on handheld flares.

  • Have your vessel inspected for safety by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary at no charge. Coast Guard members will inspect life jackets, registration and numbering, navigation lights, ventilation, fire extinguishers, distress signals (flares, horn, etc.), and battery cover and connections. If your boat doesn’t pass, you’ll get a report telling you how to make your vessel safer.

  • Get your vessel extinguisher inspected and serviced. This is a requirement for boater’s reusable fire extinguishers. These extinguishers also require additional testing/certification every six years. Each 5 lb. extinguisher will be serviced for $22. If hydro-testing is required, you can get an exchange unit for $45.

  • Talk to our Flotilla Team to ask questions about signing up.

The event happens between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at 141 Parfitt Way on Bainbridge.

Flotilla Team Members

If you’re already a member of the Flotilla Team, at the event you can pick up a Bravo Insignia flag and burgee for your vessel and a team patch to wear.

If your vessel, berthing, or contact information (phone number, address, email) have changed, update your information here.

Bring an interested friend to the event and sign them up for the Flotilla Team.
