Don’t Be Cold! Get to a Severe Weather Shelter or Warming Center

Temperatures way below our normal are expected through Monday night. Tonight’s predicted low is 14°F, Saturday night temps will drop to 17°F, and Sunday we can expect about 22°F. During the day, temps will be in the 20s through Sunday and then climb to about 34°F by Monday.

If you are cold, seek warm shelter—these temps are life threatening with any prolonged exposure.

Severe Weather Shelters

The Severe Weather Shelter (SWS) at the Bainbridge Island Senior Center is expected to open tonight and remain open through Monday, provided enough volunteers sign up for shifts:

If the SWS cannot open because of a lack of volunteers, go to one of the other county shelters instead:

To find out if a SWS is open, click here or call 2-1-1. To subscribe to shelter activation notifications, text KitsapSWS to 898-211.

Free rides to and from the shelters are available. Call 360-373-3000 before 7 pm to arrange for a ride.
