Child Safety and Reunification Town Hall
We all know an earthquake will eventually hit the greater Seattle area. If that happens during the school day, the Bainbridge Prepares partnership - in conjunction with local child-centric organizations - has developed an islandwide child reunification plan. Please consider yourself invited to the Bainbridge Prepares Child Safety and Reunification Town Hall on March 24, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. where you’ll find important information about this reunification plan and have the opportunity to get answers to your questions.
The Town Hall will kick off with an introduction by Scott James, Founder and Board Chair of Bainbridge Prepares. Anne LeSage, the City’s Emergency Management Coordinator, will then outline the role the City plays in child reunification. LeSage will be followed by a panel discussion with members of local child-centric organizations moderated by Kari Seybolt-Murphy, Bainbridge Prepares’ Child Safety & Reunification Team Lead. The evening will include a Q&A segment with the audience.
You’re invited to attend the town hall in person at the Bainbridge High School Theatre (9330 High School Rd) for free, although a quick RSVP would help us in our planning. If you can’t make the event, you can watch the video recording the next day here.
And we have child care for you during the event! A mock child reunification center will be set up in the 100 building at the high school. You can leave your kids in this safe and not-scary space with our team of volunteers (all background checked and registered with the City) during the town hall and pick them up after. Space is limited. Reserve your spot now.
