Island Visionaries Talk About Developing a Future Mindset, Jan. 23

Bob Johansen, a futurist and author, and our own Scott James, founder of Bainbridge Prepares and author of Prepared Neighborhoods, will participate in an interactive dialogue about “Being Future-Ready in the Noisy Now” on January 23. The two will discuss the mindset it will take to thrive in a world that is increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. They will look at how we can individually and collectively be more prepared in the present.

The event will be held at Eagle Harbor Books from 6:30–730 p.m., January 23. Seating is limited. RSVP here.

Bob Johansen, a distinguished fellow with the Institute for the Future, the world’s longest-running futures thinktank in Silicon Valley, has authored or co-authored twelve books detailing coming changes to our workplace and how we can prepare for those changes now. His two most recent books are Full-Spectrum Thinking and Office Shock: Creating Better Futures for Working and Living (co-written with IFTF colleagues Joseph Press and Christine Bullen).

Scott James is a social entrepreneur, community organizer, and the Board Chair of Bainbridge Prepares. BusinessWeek named him one of America’s Most Promising Social Entrepreneurs, and Forbes Magazine profiled him as a Game Changer.

Full-Spectrum Thinking, Office Shock, and Prepared Neighborhoods are available now at Eagle Harbor Book Co. All three books will be available for sale and signing at the event.

This event was originally scheduled for October of 2023, but illness required a postponement.
