BP Partnership Delivers Stop the Bleed Kits to Schools

Stop the Bleed Kits delivered to BISD

Bainbridge Prepares—in partnership with the City, the Bainbridge Island Rotary, and the Bainbridge Island Fire Department—purchased 108 stop the bleed kits for distribution around the island. The goal is to help people respond effectively to bleeding injuries.

A stop the bleed kit provides the tools people need to respond quickly to any incident resulting in a person or people being injured and bleeding. The bleeding control kits manufactured by North American Rescue include a C-A-T tourniquet, a 1" x 6" responder emergency trauma dressing, two compressed gauze packets, two pairs of gloves (nitrile), trauma shears, a survival blanket (to help control shock), one small permanent marker (to mark tourniquet application time), and instructions.

On January 11, the partnership delivered 24 kits to Dr. Peter Bang Knudsen, Superintendent of the Bainbridge Island School District, for use in BISD schools. Kits will also be included at most AED locations on the island. Read more here.
