Instead of the customary Three Days of Preparedness, this year Bainbridge Prepares is offering a Virtual Day of Preparedness September 26, from 10 to 2 pm. The event features three keynote speakers:
• Dr. Stephen Angster, a Research Assistant at University of Nevada, Reno, and a former geologist with the U.S. Geological Survey.
• Dr. Jessie Pearl, a Mendenhall Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the U.S. Geological Survey in Seattle.
• Dr. Avanti Bergquist, MD, MS, FAPA, DFAACAP, a physician with board certifications in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry as well as Adult Psychiatry; a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP); a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA); a member of the Washington State Psychiatric Association (WSPA); and an elected member of the School Board for the Renton School District.
Angster and Pearl will present the history of earthquakes on Bainbridge Island. Bergquist will speak on emotional resilience.
