Inslee Says to Stay Home a Little Longer

Today, May 1, Governor Inslee announced that his Stay at Home Order will be extended through May 31. He also announced his four-phase plan to reopen businesses, travel, and recreational and social activities.

  1. Starting May 5, with the beginning of Phase 1, certain recreation activities will reopen, including fishing, golf, and boating.

  2. Phase 2 will extend outdoor recreation activities to people outside the household in groups of fewer than five. In Phase 2, many additional businesses will reopen including hair salons and restaurants at under 50 percent capacity.

  3. In Phase 3, outdoor recreation activities and social gatherings will extend to up to 50 people. Libraries, museums, and other businesses will reopen.

  4. Finally, in Phase 4, remaining restrictions will be lifted, and even high-risk populations will reintegrate while still observing physical distancing.

The City of Bainbridge Island will, for the time being, keep closed its public facilities, including City Hall, the Municipal Court, and the Police Station. City inspectors will proceed with work but using personal protective equipment and strategies. Parks will reopen their parking lots. Finally, the city boat launch will reopen on May 5.The City's Emergency Operations Center is cutting back its hours to Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.The Farmers' Market will open on May 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees are asked to wear masks, observe physical distancing, and not bring dogs or bags.Watch the Governor's press conference here.
