BIEMRs Get More Training Opps

The Bainbridge Island Emergency Medical Responders team has been ramping up training opps. Last month, BIEMRs participated in a Stop the Bleed class offered by the Bainbridge Island Fire Department and a Hubs Training class taught by Bainbridge Prepares’ Dan Bacon.This Saturday, December 8, the team will be providing first aid at Winter Wonderland, the Bainbridge Island Parks’ holiday festival at Waterfront Park. On the 10th, BIEMRs who missed the two previous Stop the Bleed classes will get another opportunity at Station 21. Then, on December 15, team members will participate in Moulage Mayhem, where they can learn the art of moulage: applying makeup and prosthetics to simulate injuries for practice events.In January, interested BIEMRs can take the two-session amateur radio tech license class at BARN (Bainbridge Artisans Resource Network). In the new year there will also be opportunities to learn about emergency childbirth and verbal de-escalation.
