Emergency Managers Honor Anne LeSage

The City of Bainbridge Island Emergency Management Coordinator (EMC) Anne LeSage was just awarded a Regional Citation by the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) Region 10. The citation recognizes LeSage for her “outstanding leadership in community preparedness.”

When asked to comment about the recognition, LeSage said, “When I came to Bainbridge Island six years ago, I came thinking it was my dream job. Every day since has proven that to be true. I feel lucky to work with so many amazing colleagues and volunteers and serve such an incredible community.”

This is not the first time LeSage has been recognized by IAEM. In 2020, along with Bainbridge Prepares Founder Scott James and then–Deputy Fire Chief Jared Moravec, LeSage accepted the national organization’s 2022 Emergency Management Voluntary Organization of the Year Award recognizing Bainbridge Prepares at IAEM’s 70th Annual Conference.

As EMC for Bainbridge Island, LeSage works in partnership with Bainbridge Prepares and the Bainbridge Island Fire Department. In that partnership, the City operates as Lead Agency for a number of preparedness and emergency functions: Communication, Continuity of Governance, Infrastructure, Transportation & Logistics, Mitigation, Strategic Partnerships, Volunteer Management & Credentialing, Public Safety & Security, Emergency Operations Center, Damage Assessment, Flotilla, Community Emergency Response, Disaster Hubs Management, and Emergency Auxiliary Radio Service.
