At last night’s Bainbridge Island City Council Meeting, two Bainbridge Prepares reps helped Mayor Joe Deets recognize all Island volunteers. Tyler Heinemann and Maradel Gale were chosen to represent BP for having logged the most volunteer hours for the organization last year. At the meeting, Deets issued a proclamation declaring the week of April 17–23, 2022, “National Volunteer Week on Bainbridge Island.”The proclamation thanked local volunteers for “their generous and effective volunteer efforts on behalf of our community and urge[d] them to continue to volunteer in any and all ways possible.” The hundreds of BP volunteers logged more than 38,000 hours of service to the community in 2021 alone.Both Tyler and Gale spent many days during the pandemic at the BP-supported COVID vaccination clinics.
