DOH Allocates No New Vaccine Doses to Kitsap This Week
Bainbridge Prepares has been working with Bainbridge Island Community Pharmacy (BICP) and the Bainbridge Island Fire Department to distribute COVID-19 vaccines to the eligible population segments in Phase 1A and 1B.1. However, this week, the week of January 31 through February 6, the Washington State Department of Health did not supply any more doses of the vaccine to Kitsap County, and BICP is currently out of first doses.People who got their first doses the week of January 4–9 may get their second doses at this time. If you are eligible for your second dose, follow the instructions you were given when you received the first dose.When the Bainbridge Island Community Pharmacy does receive vaccines, information on scheduling an appointment will be posted on the City's website. In addition, an alert will be sent through Nixle, the City's emergency notification system. You can sign up for Nixle at nixle.com or by texting 98110 to 888777.In the meantime, visit FindYourPhaseWA.org for a list of other potential vaccine providers.As of January 29, Bainbridge Prepares had participated in vaccinating 1,400 people. The Kitsap Public Health District clinic vaccinated more than 2,000 people at its clinic in that opening week.
