STEP 1: Register on WAServ
WAServ is the Washington State Emergency Registry of Volunteers and it is a registry for citizens who are willing and able to help during disasters and significant events. Here’s the quick 1-2-3 for registering:
- Go to WAServ and click on “Register for WASERV”
- Click on “+add organizations” and type “Kitsap” in the search box
- Choose BI MRC to fill in your contact information (including mobile number) and your healthcare license details (if required)
If you are a healthcare provider, please submit your medical license so that the state can verify your license is active.
STEP 2: Complete a COBI background check
Please complete this COBI background check.
STEP 3: Complete a COBI Volunteer Application
Please download and complete the COBI Volunteer Application, then print and email a scan or photograph of the completed form to Anne LeSage (COBI Emergency Management Coordinator) at alesage@bainbridgewa.gov.
Please note you can disregard Page 7 as it is already taken care of in Step 2 above.

And that’s it! We are SO excited to have you join us. Within a week of registering with WAServ and sending in your COBI volunteer application you should receive an email from BIMRC with your next steps. If you do not, please contact us at: mrc-leads@bainbridgeprepares.org.
