Applying to Bainbridge Island MRC

PLEASE NOTE: We are receiving a lot of interest from new applicants interested in volunteering at the Bainbridge vaccination site. If you would like to become a medical reserve corps volunteer please complete Steps 1, 2, and 3 (see below) at the same time. It may take up to 2 weeks to process your application.

STEP 1: Register on WAServ

WAServ is the Washington State Emergency Registry of Volunteers and it is a registry for citizens who are willing and able to help during disasters and significant events. Here’s the quick 1-2-3 for registering:

  1. Go to WAServ and click on “Register for WASERV”
  2. Click on “+add organizations” and type “Kitsap” in the search box
  3. Choose BI MRC to fill in your contact information (including mobile number) and your healthcare license details (if required)

If you are a healthcare provider, please submit your medical license information on WAServ so that the state can verify your license is active. If you skip this step you will not be able to help vaccinate.

STEP 2: Complete a COBI/Bainbridge Prepares Volunteer Application

All volunteers for Bainbridge Prepares and the City of Bainbridge Island (COBI) need to submit an application and pass a background check. Please complete the Bainbridge Prepares volunteer application.

STEP 3: Email us your photo

Please send us an email (alesage@bainbridgewa.gov) with a “head shot” photo of yourself to use on your COBI volunteer I.D. badge along with your name and a note that you’re applying to be a Bainbridge Island MRC volunteer.

And that’s it! We are excited to have you join us. Within 2 weeks of registering with WAServ and sending in your COBI volunteer application you should receive an email from BIMRC with your next steps. If you do not, please contact us at: mrc-leads@bainbridgeprepares.org.
